Ту-134 RA-65560 "Красэйр" (самолет в лизинге, с неопределенной синей полосой, неаэрофлотовской);
Ту-134 RA-65755 "Комиинтеравиа";
Ту-134 EY-65763 из Таджикистана;

Як-40 RA-87288 "Скол", забавная раскраска, бело-зеленая;

Ту-154 RA-85794 "Якутских авиалиний";

Note # 1; IL-14 c/n 147001640 coded "23" red seen Zuk jul95/aug97 was flown in after 1993; c/n not confirmed but regarding l/n and sightings of all known RA- and FLARF- registered aircraft it is our suggestion this became 01114-FLARF of the Myachkovo FLying Club, f/n Mya 17aug01 which c/n is confirmed.
Note # 2; Tu-154M 86A738 RA-85619 of Sibir is named "Yulia Fomina" after a stewardess killed on this aircraft when it was hijacked by Chechian terrorists

Newsflashes;
- China United flew its last Tu-154M flight on Thursday 31 October from Yichuan to Nanyaun and the fleet is now grounded for sale back to Russia. No replacements have been announced, which is not surprising as average passenger load per flight is 8 per cent! Yes, 8 per cent!
- CAAC have issued strong words to Chongqing airport about the 2 Air Great Wall Tu-154Ms. Sell or destroy. According to CAAC policy committee, its bad for passengers to see these parked on the passenger ramp! Note: Its also bad and a major health hazard using a toilet at Chongqing airport!
-The certification of the An-74K-300 was completed in the Ukraine in September 2002. By the way, converting this aircraft from the passenger to the cargo version takes only one hour.
-The trials of the Mi-17N (= night), the export version of the Mi-8MTKO, are about to be completed according to the General Manager of the Mil Helicopter Plant, Yuri Andrianov.
-The Kazan Helicopter Plant has started certification trials of the "Ansat" light helicopter which is to replace the Mi-2. They shall be completed by late 2003, when the "Ansat" is to receive its type certificate.
-The "Aviastar" Plant at Ulyanovsk has signed a contract with the leasing company "Ilyushin Finance Company" providing for the construction of 46 Tu-204's within the next six years. The construction numbers of the first six aircraft have already been defined. Four of these aircraft will be delivered to "KrasAir" and two to "Sibir".
-Atyrau Airways have ordered a Tu-204, one of the ones originally built as a test aircraft. Delivery date unknown; this probably also depends on whether they are able to restart scheduled services!
-The modernisation of the first IL-76 has started at the Voronezh aircraft factory. The IL-76MD from the Russian Air Force will receive PS-90A-76 engines instead of its former D-30KP and will be handed back to the Air Force in September 2003. The re-engine process will cost $ 14 million per aircraft.
-The Kharkov aircraft factory and the Kazakh airline "Air Berkut" have signed an option for the delivery of six An-140's. The contract is worth $ 51 million.
-The first "Iran 140" (licence version of the An-140) produced by the HESA factory at Isfahan has already commenced scheduled flights, whereas the second one will be completed in December. At the moment, HESA is working on 4 "Iran 140" aircraft. By 2006, the yearly output shall reach 12 aircraft. Altogether, the Ukrainian-Iranian contract from 1995 envisages the licence production of 100 An-140s in Iran.
-The Komsomolsk aircraft factory is working on 4 Su-80 transport aircraft which are to be delivered to the Russian Border Guards and to the Forest Authority.
- At the same time, the production of the Be-103 light amphibian was stopped as there are not enough customers for them. Only 3 of the 13 aircraft work had begun on in August 2002 will be completed.
- Silk Way Airlines probably is the new name for Azal Avia Cargo as they are reported being the same company.

Important note from the editor; Although we did receive some interesting reports from Russia and the Gulf we had to bin 99% of those reports for the following reason. Those reports were made using one of those so called "excellent and ultimate aircraft data programs" (see regular adverts in spotter magazines). Please do not upload trip reports created with these programs on the internet. By using some of these programs the sightings you do upload show wrong and/or obsolete operators as often they have changed long time ago. It simply can be checked as well as 'surprisingly' all aircraft noted for the first time are given without operator etc. etc. Also editors of various spotter magazines warn each other when such 'suspicious' reports are detected not to use this report.
If you want to use these programs and you like to have your personal records full of errors please feel free to buy and use those "excellent and ultimate aircraft data programs" but please do not pollute the editors' mail boxes and spotter sites with your computer made reports.
Reasons to ask not to use those programs are as follows; Within the C.I.S. registration batches are re-assigned to another type after the oldest type was wfu and many batches of so-called 'Departmental aircraft' (industrial flyers) registrations have been re-used on different types of aircraft. In addition to this individual registrations, over the years, also have been re-used on different types of aircraft and several registration batches are/were re-used for the same type of aircraft.
After 1992 it also became clear the various C.I.S. republics issued the same five numbers for the other aircraft but with a different prefix. Therefore it is possible to see the same five-figure number on two different aircraft at the same time, even at the same date and same location, and as such increasing the need of logging their prefixes and titles and version as well.
To make it more complex the Russian Federation also re-used registrations for the same type of aircraft after the break-up of the Soviet Union, again increasing the need of logging prefix, operator and if possible, most important, the construction number.
Some examples; An-12 CCCP-11368 is c/n 402310, EW-11368 is c/n 4342010 and RA-11368 is c/n 8346006, three different aircraft with the same five-figure registration. Also RA-85204 was as a Tu-154B1 c/n 77A204 and same registration with same prefix now is a Tu-154M c/n 91A886. At least another thousand, if not more, examples like this do exist!
